I have a box of older collage pieces that I saved after doing a few interesting ones at least 20 or more years before. The paper is crumpled up parchment style resume commercial printing paper or watercolor paper and then dipped in watercolor mixed with various colors, then laid out semi flat to dry. Sometimes they are torn in the process of laying flat. Then putting pieces together it creates a slim relief since I allow the paper to have a little dimension.
With this piece I wanted to get back to experimenting with collage starting with some pieces I already had. I guess I should dedicate this one to a colleague of mine, her favorite color is orange. Orange is the color of creativity and happiness.
The work is mounted on watercolor paper background so it can be float matted to accommodate the raised surfaces.
