This piece is part of a series of collage works with a limited color palette. The process is with crumpled parchment paper or handmade paper dipped in watercolor paint and unfolded to dry. I created a number of pieces and experimented with some brushstrokes and color variations. Then, choosing among the collage pieces put together numerous combinations before finishing.
This artwork reminded me of spring and my favorite color, purple. The lighter rectangular paper is one of my handmade papers from a time I experimented with learning paper making. That piece is from recycled paper and even dryer lint. Amazing with what you can make from fibers and a blender!
This work is mounted on watercolor paper background and can be float matted with a box frame or with space between the mat and backing to accommodate the slight relief thickness of it. It can be turned to frame in any direction although I like this one just fine.
